The app emphasizes minimal distraction during exercise sessions by hiding all controls and buttons. Users can temporarily reveal these controls with a single tap anywhere on the screen, and hide them again with another tap, allowing for an unobstructed workout experience.
Workout Programs enable aggregation of multiple Workout Plans into a unified schedule. Users can repeat individual plans within a program as desired and customize rest intervals between plans, offering tailored training sequences.
Workout Plans allow predefined configurations where users specify exact durations, repetitions, rest periods, and sets. The interface displays exercise names, current set information, and timers, facilitating structured session management.
An adjustable workout plan feature provides manual control over workout and rest durations in real-time, accommodating dynamic workout adjustments as needed.
iPad support includes adaptive layouts such as two-column or three-column views depending on the workout, along with compatibility for mouse or trackpad use. The app also offers convenient keyboard shortcuts to enhance navigation and usability.
The companion Apple Watch application displays pertinent workout information like timers, current exercises, sets, active calories, total calories, and heart rate metrics directly on the watch face during exercise sessions.
For standalone use, the watchOS app supports independent workouts without requiring the iPhone nearby. Synchronization of Workout Programs and Plans is facilitated via iCloud, ensuring data consistency across devices.
The Workout Library provides access to over 500 pre-designed workouts for inspiration. Users can filter these by fitness level, equipment availability, or targeted muscle groups to customize their training further and seamlessly incorporate them into existing plans.
